Cross pollination 'tween golf and baseball

Thought about ABS when seeing this and nearly fell off my spinning wheel. I think it's a great way to view what can happen if allowed. JD Martinez and Rodriquez had an interesting chat about hitting zone lengths, planing early, and why JD's view is allowing his hitting charge. JD went from a straight line thrust to dropping and planing early-wider Too lengthy for words but I know you ABS knuckleheads will understand its similarity. He closes with "I want to give myself..................be right"

From about 5:00 to 7:00, but overall good too. Cheers. :)

If you notice as he is explaining, it's with right palm up at P3.
Of course flat entry and the bat level longer through the strike.

Great post and video there Rat.

If I was listening to just the audio from the 5 to 7 minute mark I would swear they were talking about golf and not baseball. Really interesting how similar both swings and actions are.

Found this video in Vimeo's dust pile, less than 100 views, and is quite cool if I must say. Ran it by some experienced baseball coaches and none had seen anything quite like it for staying into the hit and not pulling out. Quite a few YT videos out there with drills for staying inside the ball, like putting a glove on top of your head, hitting off your knees, etc., but this is new and unique to me and it works real well.

So it's a good cross pollination piece and anyone having youngin's struggling at the plate this will work. If anyone knows Spanish maybe can translate what the guys are saying.

Very interesting...

thanks for posting!

I'm so glad in golf the ball isn't moving!
If it was, I might have to switch to a frying pan!
