I noticed that also. George studied Hogan's swing so much but it's a bit strange he didn't copy Hogan's grip.

Maybe Lag has a few insights to this 'mystery'.

I always thought of George's grip as neutral.

In the video he teaches you to put the left thumb directly on top of the shaft, which seems very weak. Not sure if that's what he actually did but it's what he described in the video.
