Sure a bit will happen, but he actually wants you to feel the opposite, i.e. backing away the left hip and squating into the right hip and leg. I am not promoting it necessarily, just reporting it. You can find a video he did on it on his instagram account...ggswings...if you look. Below is a link to one of his star students drilling this. I think this guy is off to OSU on a full ride. I think he is just giving you something to avoid the natural tendency to drive the lower half laterally and have it race away from the torso.

A great video showing his teaching style, key points in swing, and good comments about 'swinging left'.

I disagree, because he is teaching a shut face on the way down combined with swinging left.. that's not compatible.
He also wants the club coming from the inside at P3, but doesn't want spine tilt, so the players will end up stuck because the arms don't have the free pathway to work the club down into the slot properly. Now if he is assuming that anyone with proper spine tilt on the downswing is going to hang back, then I could agree, but he's wanting the student to work left post impact (good)... but coming from a shut face... (not good). The open face at P3 gives the pivot the green light to aggressively accelerate through the strike. Trying to open the hips too early will also stunt pivot acceleration later when you really need it. Great striking is not about velocity, it's about acceleration. That is the key to accuracy because acceleration creates pressure, and feel... the great tangible element.

Can you post a video of the instructors own golf swing? That usually shows what he's trying to teach as far as basic hand and shaft patterns. Maybe I am misunderstanding something.

Here's GG goofing around. Obviously not his prettiest swing but his Instagram account has many little clips showing what he's teaching along with his yt channel.

My guess is that the closed face @ P3 works b/c he advocates a good amount of shaft lean.

Until I find the DD video I'm searching for this may get you started understanding whatever this is. One must remember, some folks are so into Trackman, Flightscope, 3D Doppler readings, 17 sensor attachments, MRI's, Endoscopes, and CT scans the true essence of sight has become blind.

Scene 1....'Closing In On It with Dana', cue curtain opening:

Scene 2....Drawing with the Stack-n-Tilt Boys from San Diego.

Lagpressure,

Delete those two videos I recently posted, and this message too, if off topic in this GG thread, but I thought you requested to see DD's swing based on the post from golfingplease which you quoted, and which linked to DD's work, so that's why I put those up. :)

He's a MORAD guy I suppose?
Just from a quick look.

If so, that would explain some things.
