Re: Doug Sanders Compact Golf (1964)I just read this thread for the first time.
It's wonderful. Highly recommended if you've never found this corner of the ABS house. Accelerate forever!
Re: Doug Sanders Compact Golf (1964)Love Doug Sanders bs. I have not looked at my swing on video hitting balls in a long time but I try to get a Sanders feel.
Working a lot of wristcock does not work for me. Just be short and wide and I am happy. ![]() A short bs requires less practice than trying to go to parallel.
Re: Doug Sanders Compact Golf (1964)Chapter 4 of Doug's book talks about the quest for distance and the lengthening of golf courses.
This was 1964. Accelerate forever!
Re: Doug Sanders Compact Golf (1964)Having trouble fully understanding Sander's swing. Is it safe to assume that his shaft is laid off for the entire backswing? Also it seems like he has very little wrist cock in still photos but in motion he appears to have a lot? Is that just the weight of the persimmons and heavy irons in transition cocking his wrists subconsciously?
